Reproducibility and Provenance for HPC and distributed environments
DescriptionThe time where experimental results of a scientific paper are just a plot or some numbers on a table is ending. Computational experiments need to provide mechanisms so that other peers can re-execute and verify that the presented results are true, and thus, reproducible. This session will start by exploring past experiences of former Reproducibility Initiatives committee members, to trigger discussions. We will then see ongoing workflow and performance reproducibility initiatives that try to tackle the problem through provenance recording. We expect attendees to share their own experiences on achieving reproducibility, and opinions on future directions.
