Biography
Tomas Oppelstrup has been a staff scientist at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory since 2013. His main interests are in massively parallel algorithms, and extending accessible time scales for molecular dynamics and kinetic Monte Carlo simulations, and further in understanding atomistic mechanisms of deformation and microstructure evolution. He received a PhD in numerical analysis from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Sweden, in 2012, and graduated with a master of science degree in engineering physics in 2003, from the same school.
