Joseph received degrees in Applied Mathematics & Physics ( B.S., 2011 ) and in Geophysical Fluid Dynamics ( PhD, 2016 ) from Florida State University. His work primarily focused on separation dynamics of the Gulf Stream during graduate school, which led to a passion in high performance computing and computational fluid dynamics. After leaving a Post-Doc position at Los Alamos National Laboratory, Joseph founded Fluid Numerics, LLC, an organization aimed at training and working alongside researchers to leverage cutting edge compute hardware through hackathons, consulting, and support services focused on HPC and cloud computing.
