Biography
My background is in conservation genetics and bioinformatics research, and in March 2024, I joined the University of Washington's (UW) Research Computing team as high-performance computing (HPC) staff scientist and facilitator to focus on tasks I enjoyed most during my time as a researcher: computing, data analysis, and teaching. I am passionate about empowering researchers to harness the full potential of HPC on our cutting-edge supercomputing cluster, Hyak. Leveraging over a decade of research experience, I bring a unique perspective to my role, bridging the gap between technical expertise and research needs. I'm leaning into the opportunity to use my experience teaching at the university level to build a training schedule for Hyak users. I'm thrilled to contribute my expertise to the research community at UW, enabling innovative discoveries, pushing the boundaries of scientific exploration, and learning along the way. This will be my first professional conference in my new role, and I am excited to begin building a network in the field of supercomputing.
