Biography
Zubair Khalid (Senior Member, IEEE) received his BSc in electrical engineering with first-class honors from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, Pakistan, in 2008, and his PhD in engineering from The Australian National University, Canberra, in 2013. He is a visiting professor at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) while on sabbatical from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), where he is an associate professor. His research interests include developing machine learning and data-driven algorithms for information processing in applications such as climate modeling, cosmology, medical imaging, acoustics, and urban development. He received a University Gold Medal and Industry Gold Medals from Siemens and NESPAK for his undergraduate performance, and the Endeavour International Postgraduate Award for his PhD studies. He served as an associate editor for the IEEE Signal Processing Letters from 2020 to 2023.
