Shih-Rou Cheng
Biography
SHIH-ROU CHENG is a dedicated and passionate 21-year-old student currently in her third year at National Tsing Hua University. She is pursuing a double major in Computer Science and Life Science. Her academic journey is marked by a strong focus on programming and high-performance computing, areas in which she has gained significant expertise.
Shih-Rou's engagement in the world of supercomputing is evident through her participation in three prestigious competitions: HPCAI2023, HiPAC2023, and ASC2024. These experiences have not only honed her technical skills but also provided her with a platform to collaborate with like-minded peers and industry professionals. Her passion for supercomputing extends beyond competition; she actively contributes to the community by teaching at the HPCAI winter and summer camps, where she imparts knowledge about supercomputers to Taiwanese students.
In addition to her achievements in high-performance computing, Shih-Rou has completed the Applied Artificial Intelligence Program for Technical Background Students at her university. This program has further enriched her understanding of AI and its applications, positioning her as a well-rounded technologist with a keen interest in the ethical implications of technology.
This summer, Shih-Rou is conducting research at the National Center for High-Performance Computing, focusing on bias in Large Language Models. Her work aims to develop strategies to reduce biased language in Taiwanese articles, contributing to more equitable and accurate AI systems. With her diverse experiences and dedication to both learning and teaching, Shih-Rou is poised to make significant contributions to the fields of computer science and artificial intelligence.
