Dr. Umesh Paliath is an aerospace engineer, currently the Technology Manager for GE Research’s Aerodynamics and CFD/Methods team. He brings strong expertise in the development of next-generation modeling and simulation technologies and a successful track record of transitioning it to real industrial application and design usage. He leads a high performing team of 30+ engineers, delivering on critical and highly impactful technologies across a broad portfolio of applications in support of the various GE businesses. He also leads GE Research’s CFD team on advancing the state of numerical methodologies for aero, thermal and combustion physics in industrial applications. These include development and application of advanced numerical algorithms for fast and accurate design optimization, high fidelity approaches and advanced machine learning techniques. His teams have delivered a step change in modeling capability from low-speed wind turbine applications to subsonic/transonic aircraft engine and gas turbine applications.
