Daniela Cassol
Biography
Daniela Cassol is a bioinformatics researcher and product owner at the DOE Joint Genome Institute at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. She leads cross-functional teams to develop scalable scientific analysis services such as JAWS, enabling collaborative workflows across national laboratories. Daniela holds a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and completed postdoctoral training at the University of California, Riverside. Her research spans plant physiology, transcriptomics, and workflow systems, with numerous software contributions to the Bioconductor community. She is an active member of the ACM and serves on advisory boards promoting early-career development and gender diversity in science. She is a certified Scrum Product Owner and Developer with a strong focus on user-centered scientific software.
