Johannes Gebert works as a research associate in the Department of Numerical Methods and Libraries at the High-Performance Computing Center Stuttgart and is pursuing his PhD in the field of mechanical material parameters of human bones. This includes the development of algorithms for processing high-resolution CT scans and converting them into mechanical in silico models. Based on direct numerical simulation and other methods, he back-calculates patient-specific material parameters. Gebert studied automotive and engine technology and uses his knowledge and experience from research and industry to teach students the fundamentals of modeling, simulation, and optimization methods.
