Francesc Lordan
Biography
Francesc conducted his B.Sc. studies in the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (UPC) receiving the corresponding degrees in 2010. He obtained M.Sc. in Computer Architecture, Networks and System” degree from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in 2013. After defending his PhD thesis in 2018, "Programming models for mobile environments", he obtained his PhD in Computer Architecture from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) winning the Special Doctorate Award.
Since 2010, Dr. Lordan has been part of the Workflows and Distributed Computing group of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center. His efforts have been focused on the COMPSs programming model: a task-based model for developing parallel applications running on heterogeneous distributed infrastructures across the whole Edge-Cloud continuum involving edge and fog devices, clusters, supercomputers, grids and clouds. Dr. Lordan has been directly involved in the several European FP7, H2020 and HE projects (ICOS, AI-Sprint, mF2C, ASCETIC and OPTIMIS, and ASCETIC) and has supported other collaborative projects.
