Woo-Sun Yang has been a HPC Consultant in the User Services Group/ the User Engagement Group at NERSC since 2008, where he provides technical support to NERSC users on various issues with parallel and numerical computing. He holds BS and MS degrees in Geological Sciences from Seoul National University, Korea. For his Ph.D. degree from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, he studied thermal convection in planet's mantle with a parallel finite element numerical method for a spherical shell.
