Dr. Felix Schürmann is a senior HPC technologist on the Google Cloud HPC team, which enables high performance computing using Google Cloud for scientific, engineering, and large-scale AI/ML training. Prior to joining Google in 2023, he was co-director of the Blue Brain Project at EPFL in Switzerland, applying high performance computing to neuroscience. In the start-up INAIT SA he used neuroscience for brain-inspired AI. He has published over 80 scientific papers on computational science and high performance computing and holds several patents. He is a physicist by training, holds a PhD, and is an adjunct professor at EPFL, Switzerland.
