Duncan Roweth
Biography
Duncan Roweth is an HPE Fellow and Chief Architect in the High Performance Networking Business Unit at HPE. Duncan has a PhD in “Parallel Algorithms for Lattice QCD” from the University of Edinburgh. He also holds a Master of Advanced Study in mathematics from the University of Cambridge and a first-class honors degree in mathematical physics from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology. He is a key contributor to the HPE Slingshot program, working on development of the second- and third-generation networks. At Cray, Duncan provided technical leadership on the HPE Slingshot NIC and switch ASICs. He was a lead investigator in Cray’s exascale design projects for the U.S. Department of Energy. Before joining Cray, Duncan was a founder of the UK-based networking company Quadrics. He has worked in HPC systems and networking for over 30 years.
