Biography
At ANL since 2009, Timothy Williams is Deputy Director of the Computational Science Division. As part of the Leadership Computing Facility's Catalyst team of computational scientists, Tim works with projects using ALCF supercomputers, especially those in plasma physics. From 2000-2009, Tim was a quantitative software developer in the financial industry, at Morgan Stanley in New York and Citadel in Chicago. From 1995-2000, he worked as a staff scientist at LANL on a C++ framework for parallel scientific computing. From 1989-1994 at LLNL , Tim did research in tokamak plasmas and other areas, developing a long-term interest in large-scale parallel computing.
