Biography
Dr. Andreas Herten is a joint lead of the Novel System Architecture Design division and the team leader of the Accelerating Devices Lab at Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC). In the lab, he and his team consult on, analyse, port, and optimize scientific applications for GPUs and other accelerated platforms. The work is conducted in close collaboration with domain scientists and industry, enabled through a variety of national- and European-funded projects. Before joining JSC, he did his PhD in experimental particle physics, working on enabling real-time data suppression mechanisms on GPUs for the next generation of particle physics experiments.
