Biography
Dr. Walkitria Smith is a visionary leader in healthcare innovation, dedicated to advancing digital health equity through telemedicine, artificial intelligence (AI), and comprehensive care models. As the Chief Digital Medical Officer and Associate Professor at Morehouse School of Medicine, Dr. Smith has spearheaded initiatives to integrate AI into healthcare systems, with a focus on improving access to care and addressing health disparities. Her leadership has been instrumental in leveraging technology to enhance telemedicine services, streamline care delivery, and train future physicians to adopt data-driven, patient-centered approaches. Through partnerships with organizations like the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Coalition to Advance COVID-19, she has demonstrated the transformative potential of AI in addressing urgent healthcare challenges, particularly in underserved communities.

In addition to her academic and clinical roles, Dr. Smith contributes to global health innovation as a board member of the Task Force for Global Health and an AIM AHEAD CLINIQ Fellow.
