Biography
Xiao Wang is a research staff scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He received bachelor's degrees in both mathematics and computer science with honor from Saint John’s University, Minnesota, in 2012, and a master's degree in electrical and computer engineering from Purdue University in 2016. In 2017, he received a PhD in electrical and computer engineering from Purdue University, under the supervision of professors Charles Bouman and Samuel Midkiff. From 2017 to 2021, he received postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School. Wang's research interest focuses on applying AI and HPC to all kinds of imaging problems, such as x-ray computed tomographic (CT) reconstruction, electron microscopy material imaging, MR medical imaging and climate imaging. He is a co-founder of the High Performance Computing for Imaging (HPCI) conference.
