Soumyendu Sarkar is an Artificial Intelligence Senior Director and Senior Distinguished Technologist at Hewlett Packard Labs at HPE and leads research on applying machine learning and reinforcement learning to sustainable data centers and clean energy with digital twins. Soumyendu also works on several emerging areas of machine learning and is a principal investigator of U.S. DOE-funded AI research to advance fusion energy, as well as HPE's PI on the U.S. Artificial Intelligence Safety Institute Consortium under the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Before joining HPE, Soumyendu was a Distinguished MTS at Bell Labs and a senior manager on the Intel IP team. He has won Best Paper awards at the NeurIPS 2023 Climate Change workshop on Digital Twin for Sustainable Data Center and IEEE CASE 2022 on ML control for wave energy converters.
