Simon Pickartz leads the Software Architecture and Development group at ParTec AG. His activities cover various fields in high performance computing, ranging from low-level communication in heterogeneous network landscapes to prospects and challenges of virtualization in HPC. Simon currently leads the ParTec AG system software development activities to support the optimal use of supercomputers according to the design principles of the dynamic Modular System Architecture (dMSA) adopted by several leading European HPC systems. This includes multi-node resource management capabilities which enable energy-efficient scheduling of malleable and moldable workloads.

Simon holds a PhD in engineering from RWTH Aachen University.
