Sterling Smith is a Computer Systems Manager at General Atomics. His background is in magnetic confinement of plasmas for the attainment of fusion conditions, for which he obtained a Ph.D from Princeton University. His interests lie in the intersection of plasma physics and computing, leading to improved understanding of experimental conditions and better validation of models of the plasma.
