Biography
Michael earned his B.S. in Physics with minors in Math and Astronomy from San Jose State University in 2015, where he discovered the densest known galaxy. He completed his Ph.D. in 2021 at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, focusing on simulations of core-collapse supernovae using HPC systems like Titan and Summit. Now, he works with the User Assistance – Production group, as an HPC Engineer, and leader of the AI and Quantum user training efforts for NCCS/OLCF users.
