Lourens van Niekerk is a scientific computing employee at GWDG and a research assistant at the computer science department at Georg-August Universität Göttingen in Germany. He holds a Masters degree in Mathematics with his thesis titled "A Quantum Approach to Anomaly Diagnosis in Production HPC Systems". Before, he was a student assistant at GWDG focusing on quantum machine learning, and he holds a Bachelors degree in Computer Science at Stellenbosch University in South Africa. His interests are quantum finance, QML, QC-HPC integration, and time-series analysis.
