Emily Lattanzio
Biography
Emily Lattanzio is a Computer Engineering M.S. student at Clemson University. After being the first woman to graduate with an B.S. in engineering from High Point University, she is now studying at Clemson and performing research in the area of data compression in high-performance computing. Her project specifically explores implementing inline data compression in pySDC, a python implementation of the spectral deferred correction methods, which was developed by scientists at the Julich Supercomputing Center in Germany. Emily has previously performed research in the areas of 3D modeling and CNN accelerators, which has lead to her three IEEE publications. In addition to research, Emily has been a teachers assistant for multiple years and takes joy in the opportunity to be a mentor to other women in engineering.
