Amir Shehata is a Principal Investigator at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where
he builds scalable software frameworks for quantum-HPC integration and is a
leading contributor to the openQSE initiative. His work centers on absorbing
quantum hardware into live DOE facility operations at one of nine DOE
laboratories actively deploying quantum systems, translating integration
architecture into operational practice. He co-authored the FGCS 2025 Best Paper
on integrating quantum computing into scientific HPC and the January 2026 paper
"Bridging Paradigms: Designing for HPC-Quantum Convergence." He organized the
QHPC Integration Workshop at ORNL in July 2025 and spearheaded the openQSE
Birds-of-a-Feather session at SC Asia 2026.
