Fumiyoshi Shoji
Biography
Fumiyoshi Shoji received his PhD from Kanazawa University, Japan, in 2000. He joined the RIKEN K computer development project from 2006 to 2012 as an R&D scientist and team leader. He was also involved in the Fugaku development project.

Shoji is currently the director of the Operations and Computer Technologies Division, RIKEN Center for Computational Science (R-CCS), responsible for the operation and enhancement of the Fugaku, the facilities, computing services on Fugaku, and operation of HPCI shared storage, etc.
His recent interests include energy efficiency and carbon neutrality of HPC system/center operations, large-scale data management, and convergence of HPC and cloud.
