Biography
Gioele Casagranda is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Trento in the HiCrest group. He is currently enrolled in the Information Engineering and Computer Science doctoral school and the Quantum Science and Technology Transdisciplinary Program, coordinated by the Department of Physics and the Q@TN consortium.
He earned his Bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of Trento in 2019, during which he also participated in an exchange program at the University of Groningen. He then pursued a Master's in Theoretical Physics at the University of Heidelberg, graduating in 2023 with a thesis on the Analytically Continued Functional Renormalization Group.
His research focuses on understanding radiation effects on superconducting quantum devices, spanning from the study of high-energy interactions to condensed matter mechanisms, with the aim to evaluate and mitigate radiation-induced faults in quantum computers.
