Biography
Ryan DeRue works as a Sr. Computational Scientist for the scientific applications team at the Rosen Center for Advanced Computing (RCAC) at Purdue University. He attended Purdue University as a student and holds a B.S. in both chemistry and computer science and a M.S. in computer science. During his time as a student Purdue he performed research in the area of molecular dynamics building a workflow manager to lower the barrier of entry for new computational chemists. With an emphasis on software and tooling, the work he does for RCAC today often involves system performance tuning and benchmarking with his career interests in site reliability engineering.
