Christiane Jablonowski

Biography
Christiane Jablonowski is a Professor in the Department of Climate and Space Sciences and Engineering at the University of Michigan, and an expert user and developer of weather and climate models. She also worked at renowned research centers such as the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), NOAA's Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory (GFDL), and the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF). Her teaching portfolio includes fluid dynamics and climate modeling courses.
Dr. Jablonowski’s research lies at the interface between atmospheric fluid dynamics, applied mathematics, data science, and scientific computing. She is the recipient of a Department of Energy Early Career Award and the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers. In addition, she is a member of the Steering Committee for NCAR’s Community Earth System Model (CESM) and a co-chair for the Short-Range Weather (SRW) application of NOAA’s Unified Forecast System (UFS).
