Biography
Katsuki Fujisawa is a Professor at the Institute of Science in Tokyo, Japan. He received his Ph.D. from the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1998. The primary objective of his project is to develop an advanced computing and optimization infrastructure for extremely large-scale graphs on next-generation supercomputers. In recent years, these results have facilitated large-scale industry-academia collaborations with many companies. His project team has taken on the challenge of the Graph500 benchmark, which is designed to measure the performance of computer systems for applications requiring irregular memory and network access patterns. From 2014 to 2024, his team won the Graph500 benchmarks at the eighth, 10th through 18th, and 20th through 28th competitions. In 2017, he received the Prize for Science and Technology (Research Category), awarded by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan.
