Biography
Kiran Ravikumar is a research scientist at NASA Ames, working in the Computational Aerosciences Branch of the NASA Advanced Supercomputing Division. He develops and enhances the Launch Ascent and Vehicle Aerodynamics (LAVA) framework, enabling high-fidelity computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations. His work involves optimizing and developing CFD solvers targeting GPUs. He earned his Ph.D. in aerospace engineering from Georgia Tech in 2021, focusing on turbulence research using pseudo-spectral direct numerical simulations and extreme-scale computing. Previously, he developed GPU-accelerated numerical libraries at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. His expertise lies in high-performance computing, GPUs, 3D FFT algorithms and scalable CFD algorithms.
