Biography
Dr. Roger Cass is Chief Cloud Architect at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) in the lab’s Center for Cloud Computing (C3). He catalyzes research teams using compute and data across public cloud and on-premises for scientific discovery in chemistry, data analytics, and Earth science, and for technological innovation in sustainable energy and national security. Initiatives include the economics of cloud, cloud operations, classified cloud, optimizing workloads for cloud HPC, and extending cloud into on-premise data centers. Before PNNL, Dr. Cass led the global enterprise architecture function for companies in insurance, healthcare, and online research. He holds a PhD in mechanical engineering from Purdue University and an MS/BS in civil engineering from Brigham Young University.
