Dr. Julita Corbalan (female) is an associated professor at UPC and associated researcher at BSC. She finished her Ph.D. in 2001 in the context of dynamic resource management for HPC applications in coordinated execution environments where all the system components cooperates for an efficient resource utilization. She has participated in european projects such as NANOS, XtreemOS, and DEEP-EST, metwork of excellencies such as CoreGRID, and industrial projects with IBM and Lenovo. Her current research targets smart environments for energy efficient systems. This research has been focused to generate real products suitable for production systems, considering not only research topics but also real requirements such as security considerations. As a result of this approach, very productive and interesting collaboration project with Lenovo (and industry partner of BSC) has resulted in a real energy management product, EAR, that is currently in production at Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ) in SuperMUC-NG. She's currently the CTO of the Energy Aware Solution (EAS) company.
