Biography
Ron Bewtra is the Director for Leadership Computing Strategy at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). Prior to this position, Ron served as the Chief Technology Officer of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). In this role, he drove technology innovation and developed the Department’s technology roadmaps in the areas of AI, data, geospatial capabilities, cloud, and networking. Ron also supported government-wide activities as a chair of the Federal CIO Council’s Innovation Committee, chair of the Federal CTO Council, and as a representative on the Federal Geographic Data Committee and the Federal CDO Council. Additionally, Ron led the government’s transition to IPv6-only as the chair of the Federal IPv6 Task Force. He previously served as the CTO of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), where he developed agency strategies and was responsible for initiating the big data partnership.
