Donald G. Truhlar
Biography
Professor Donald G. Truhlar was born in Chicago. He received a BA in chemistry from St. Mary’s College in Winona, Minnesota (1965) and a PhD in chemistry from Caltech (1970). In 1969 he joined the faculty of the University of Minnesota, where he is currently Regents Professor of Chemistry and Chemical Physics. His research includes theoretical and computational chemical dynamics and quantum mechanics. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the International Academy of Quantum Molecular Science, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences; he is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Chemical Society, the American Physical Society, the Chemical Research Society of India (honorary), the Chinese Chemical Society (honorary), the Royal Society of Chemistry, and the World Association of Theoretical and Computational Chemists.
