Paula Olaya is a research scientist in the On-prem AI Cloud delivery team at IBM Research. She obtained her Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Computer Science at UTK. Olaya’s research interests include the convergence between high-performance and cloud computing for scientific workflows to allow intrinsic reproducibility, trustworthiness, and scalability. She has been involved in projects with HPC and machine learning applications, such as protein identification through diffraction patterns, also benchmarking and analyzing performance in terms of time and power usage for FFTs and sparse matrix solvers at the architecture and algorithm level for an astrophysics application.
