Peng Xu is a research scientist at Ames National Laboratory and assistant adjunct professor of chemistry at Iowa State University. She is a developer for the quantum chemistry software package GAMESS. Her research interests include theory and method development for intermolecular interaction, nanomaterials, drug design, and linear scaling fragmentation methods. Her recent research directions include offloading scientific codes via OpenMP, machine learning potentials, and carbon capture.
