Simon Garcia De Gonzalo
Biography
Dr. Simon Garcia de Gonzalo is a senior member of technical staff in scalable computer architectures and exascale technologies. Simon currently is part of different projects/teams such as: Vanguard Advanced Architecture Prototype program and the Application Performance Team. Before joining Sandia National Laboratories in 2022 he was a Postdoctorate Researcher at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). At BSC he was awarded the 2020 STARS Fellowship for highly skilled post-docs and selected as a 2022 Juan de la Cierva Fellow by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness which he had to forgo in order to take his current position. His research interests include parallel heterogeneous computing, performance portability, runtime systems, compilers, and programming models for high-performance computing. His work has been published in SC, MICRO, CGO, CLUSTER, and received best paper awards at SC’20 and HPCC’19.
