Professor Xiao He earned his BS in physics and MS in chemistry from Nanjing University, and his PhD in chemistry from the University of Florida. He was trained as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is currently a professor at the School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering at East China Normal University, and director of Shanghai Frontiers Science Center of Molecule Intelligent Syntheses. He was awarded the Chinese Chemical Society Tang Aoqing Young Investigator Award in Theoretical Chemistry. Research in his group focuses on the development and application of new theoretical and computational methodologies in quantum chemistry, including fragment-based quantum mechanical methods, and new density functionals for chemistry and solid-state physics.
