Sungyong Park is a professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Sogang University, Seoul, Korea. He received his BS in computer science from Sogang University, and both his MS and PhD in computer science from Syracuse University. From 1987 to 1992, he worked for LG Electronics, Korea, as a research engineer. From 1998 to 1999, he was a research scientist at Telcordia Technologies (formerly Bellcore), where he developed network management software for optical switches. Sungyong's research interests include cloud computing and systems, virtualization technologies, high performance I/O and storage systems, and embedded system software.
