Ioan Hadade is a Senior Computational Scientist and Team Leader for HPC Applications at the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF). His team is responsible for the optimization and benchmarking of HPC applications such as the IFS weather forecasting model on both internal and external HPC systems, and the exploration of future HPC architectures. His team is also heavily involved in supporting ECMWF's activities in the EU's Destination Earth initiative by porting and optimizing the IFS weather model on EuroHPC machines such as LUMI and Leonardo in order to enable the efficient operation of the Weather-Induced Extremes and Climate Change Adaptation digital twins on these platforms.
