Biography
Todd A. Anderson is a senior research scientist in Intel's Parallel Computing Lab. He received his Computer Science Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky in 1999 and immediately joined Intel where he worked in the nascent field of software-defined networking before switching focus to making programming easier. With that goal, he has worked in garbage collection, program synthesis, and Python acceleration. He is the author of Numba's auto-parallelization feature and PyOMP, an extension to Numba that supports direct OpenMP programming in Python. Todd has also contributed to various systems that automatically distribute and/or compile NumPy and Pandas workloads across clusters of machines.
