Scott Callaghan
Biography
Scott Callaghan is a computer scientist at the Southern California Earthquake Center and has worked in HPC for 20 years. He is the lead developer on the CyberShake project, a large-scale high performance computing application which performs physics-based probabilistic seismic hazard analysis for California. He works with scientific workflows in high performance and high throughput environments to reduce application time-to-solution. Scott has a strong interest in education, outreach, and mentoring to prepare the next generation of HPC professionals. He has served as a mentor for 20 years, been involved with the International HPC Summer School since 2011, and is currently the chair of the ACM SIGHPC Education chapter.
