SUMMARY:Quantum Volume Benchmarking Simulators on HPC Systems
DESCRIPTION:Christian Boehme (GWDG, Germany); Lourens van Niekerk (GWDG, G
ermany; Georg-August Universität Göttingen (GWDG)); Dhiraj Kumar and Aasis
h Kumar Sharma (University of Göttingen, GWDG, Germany); and Tino Meisel a
nd Martin Leandro Paleico (GWDG, Germany)\n\nQuantum computing simulators
via classical computing are essential for small-scale comprehension and te
sting of quantum computing algorithms. Quantum Volume (QV) is a well-estab
lished benchmark for comparing Quantum Processing Units (QPUs) in the NISQ
era. However, there is no QV benchmark of a large variety of current quan
tum simulators. This poster compares quantum computing simulators running
on a single CPU or GPU-based HPC node using the Quantum Volume benchmark.
As simulators do not suffer from noise, the metric used in the comparison
is the time required to simulate a set Quantum Volume. In the poster sessi
on, we will provide further differentiating information about each simulat
or, and can provide more detail into how the proof of HOP convergence, a k
ey component in QV testing with noiseless simulators, works.\n\nRegistrati

ational High Performance Computing Center); Sally Ellingson (University of
Kentucky); and Alan Sussman (University of Maryland)\n\n
