SUMMARY:CoVA: Compiler for Versatile Architectures
DESCRIPTION:Hongzheng Tian (University of California, Irvine; Hewlett Pack
 ard Labs); Alok Mishra (Hewlett Packard Labs); and Sitao Huang (University
  of California, Irvine)\n\nThe rapid advancement in computing demands and
 the increasing complexity of modern applications (e.g., image processing,
 numerical computation, and machine learning) necessitate efficient heterog
 eneous computing solutions. Project CoVA proposes an MLIR-based compilatio
 n flow designed to bridge the gap between high-level algorithm development
  with Python and diverse hardware architecture development with C++, inclu
 ding CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, and quantum computing units. By utilizing a high-l
 evel MLIR dialect specifically designed for CoVA, we achieve the decouplin
 g of algorithms from backend hardware, facilitating more efficient algorit
 hm development and significantly reducing development cycles. Moreover, ou
 r design enhances development efficiency within HPC platforms equipped wit
 h heterogeneous accelerators, enabling faster and more streamlined develop
 ment processes.\n\nRegistration Category: Tech Program Reg Pass, Exhibits
 Reg Pass\n\nSession Chairs: Ayesha Afzal (Friedrich-Alexander University,
 Erlangen-Nuremberg; Erlangen National High Performance Computing Center);
 Sally Ellingson (University of Kentucky); and Alan Sussman (University of
 Maryland)\n\n
