SUMMARY:Benchmarking Quantum-Inspired Optimization Platforms and Tools on
 an HPC Cluster
DESCRIPTION:Jencey Dole, Gil Speyer, and Torey Battelle (Arizona State Uni
versity)\n\nThis work compares performance of various QUBO software tools
on different platforms available on the Sol supercomputer at Arizona State
University. CPU, GPU and the NEC vector engine (VE) card provide various
means to implement these computations on simulated qubits while employing
various solvers, including simulated quantum annealing. As current quantum
hardware cannot reach the scale of many real-world problems, these simula
tions give a sense of the potential future technology. \n\nAlthough this p
articular work is complete, there remains potential to expand on it by res
earching other types of NP-Hard optimization problems and implementing oth
er solvers. We will present plots illustrating the results of the performa
nce and accuracy benchmarking.\n\nRegistration Category: Tech Program Reg
Pass, Exhibits Reg Pass\n\nSession Chairs: Ayesha Afzal (Friedrich-Alexand
er University, Erlangen-Nuremberg; Erlangen National High Performance Comp
uting Center); Sally Ellingson (University of Kentucky); and Alan Sussman
 (University of Maryland)\n\n
