SUMMARY:Challenges of Finding Cyber Attacks and Remediating Network Issues
DESCRIPTION:Phuong Cao (National Center for Supercomputing Applications (N
CSA))\n\nThe packets were captured at a network border of 400 Gbps links.
The raw packet data were preprocessed in Python to generate bipartite (pai
r-wise) TCP connections. Gephi put the TCP connections in a graph and visu
alized them. The original picture was 16K resolution (15360 × 8640), conta
ining a snapshot of 2.29 M TCP connections visualized by Gephi using the Y
ifan Hu graph layout algorithm. Further processing was done in PowerPoint
to highlight the area of interest. Several people were involved in data co
llection (Alex Withers), rendering (Bach Hoang), leading the process (Phuo
ng Cao), and providing concept and feedback (Ravi Iyer, Zbigniew Kalbarczy
k).\n\nRegistration Category: Tech Program Reg Pass, Workshop Reg Pass, Tu
torial Reg Pass, Exhibits Reg Pass\n\n
