SUMMARY:Scalable In-Situ Visualization for Extreme-Scale SPH Simulations
DESCRIPTION:Yiqing Zhu and Osman Seckin Simsek (University of Basel, Switz
erland); Jean M. Favre (Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS)); and
Rubén Cabezón and Florina M. Ciorba (University of Basel, Switzerland)\n\n
Large-scale scientific simulations present significant challenges in data
processing efficiency.\nThis paper addresses the critical issue of I/O and
data processing performance bottlenecks within the domain of extreme-scal
e Smoothed-particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) and gravity simulations.\nWe prese
nt a novel I/O software architecture implemented in the scalable SPH-EXA f
ramework, incorporating a variety of in-situ and post-hoc data analysis p
ipelines, facilitating rapid analysis and visualization of extreme-scale p
hysical datasets.\nThe performance of our I/O architecture is evaluated th
rough comprehensive benchmarking across a wide range of data scales, condu
cted on the Piz Daint supercomputer.\n\nTag: Distributed Computing, Perfor
mance Evaluation and/or Optimization Tools, Scientific and Information Vis
ualization\n\nRegistration Category: Workshop Reg Pass\n\nSession Chairs:
